Library Cards are free to any resident of Spencer County. Applicants must present a photo ID and proof of address when applying for a card. Any child 14 years or younger must have a parent or guardian sign for responsibility of materials borrowed.  Nonresident borrowers may obtain a library card but must present a photo ID and proof of address.

Only two items may be borrowed from the library when your library card is first issued. The maximum of 15 items may be borrowed on a library card after the first use.

*Books are the only item that can be renewed for another two week period. Books will only be renewed for one additional loan period.  No reserved books will be renewed.  Please note: Any patron having a fine of $5.00 or more will not be allowed to borrow library materials until the fine is paid.  All paid fees are nonrefundable.

<>Public Access Computers

The Spencer County Public Library has seven computers for public use.  Patrons have access to Microsoft Office software, various other programs and educational games. One computer is designated for e-mail only. Access to the Internet is provided as another resource to meet the informational needs of library patrons. All Internet users must read and sign an Internet/computer use agreement before use. A photo ID is required and the user must be 14 years of age. A guardian must sign an agreement giving persons under 14 permission to use the Internet. A guardian must accompany all children five and under while using the computer.  Wireless access is available to laptop or PDA users. The Internet/Computer Use Agreement must also be signed for use of the wireless service.
