DOCTOR WHO/ENTERPRISE crossover

Eight is Enough

Why eight is enough.

I retrogenerated the Doctor from the Rowan Atkinson ninth incarnation back to the Paul McGann eighth incarnation in my fanfiction for a preponderance of reasons of which each in itself is trivial and yet would take longer to explain than it's worth. Still I knew people would ask. Such of these reasons as I still recall at the time of writing are listed here, so I only have to type them once:

Though I'm of the school of thought that there are as many canons of DOCTOR WHO as there are DOCTOR WHO fans, it troubled me to have deviated so far from genuine BBC-authorized canon. (Then, in the same story in which this deviation is undone, I add non-canonical 'ships to this fanfiction universe for the first time. A mass of conflicting impulses, I.)

In the spreadsheet I use to coordinate DOCTOR WHO's screen chronology with those of the shows I cross it over with, I noted that on January 6, 2002, it shall be as long since the Rowan Atkinson spoof as between the Paul McGann movie and the Rowan Atkinson spoof.

In the spreadsheet I use to coordinate DOCTOR WHO's screen chronology with those of the shows I cross it over with, I also coordinate all that with the imaginary screen chronology of King Arthur in Time and Space. When I elected to give ENTERPRISE to Arthur and the Round Table instead of to some other set of legends (Emperor Maximus had been the frontrunner (he is now Dylan Hunt in his original time, while Charlemagne is Dylan Hunt after his singularity sleep (see the imaginary screen canon notes))), I was aesthetically offended that I'd left Table-analogged STAR TREK completely missing the eighth Doctor era.

The last straw was that in the wake of Hornblower II my wife joined the Paul McGann Estrogen Brigade.

The next installment in the Archer-T'Pol-Trip story is Two Weeks' Notice.
