Every 2 1/2 minutes a
woman is diagnosed with breast cancer!
It is important that
we take a stand against this disease, for it affects the lives of so many
of our mothers, sisters,
and friends. One of the most important things we can do, is to BE INFORMED about
this disease and realize it is NOT ALWAYS 'someone else' that it strikes!
We all need to have regular breast exams, and women after age 40 should have
a yearly mammogram. We ALL need to remind and encourage our friends and
loved ones to do the same. If we take these small steps, many lives
will be saved...YOUR life might be one of them.
We Can Make a Difference!
I
have my own up close and personal battle with this damnable disease. In
January 1998,
I
had a mastectomy, and there were four kinds of cancer cells in my breast,
but I am happy
to tell you that I am a warrior and a survivor. I reached my 7 year (cancer
free) mark in
January 2004.
I continue to
pray, as do most
who have had breast cancer...that it does not rear it's ugly head, ever
again. Most of you
know someone or their families whose lives are turned upside down by it.
My friends,
this
is a battle for us all...In this fight for our lives, we must all be warriors!
