BANANA SPLIT CAKE

Ingredients:
 
2 C. graham cracker crumbs
2 sticks margarine
2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
1 lb. box confectioners sugar
4 small cans crushed pineapple

4 or 5 sliced bananas
2 envelopes dream whip
1 cup coconut
chopped pecans
maraschino cherries (with long stems)

FIRST LAYER:
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 stick margarine (melted)
2 Tbs. granulated sugar

Mix together thoroughly and press firmly and evenly in bottom of dish.

SECOND LAYER:
1 Lb. box confectioners sugar
1 stick margarine (melted)

Mix together thoroughly and press firmly and evenly on top of first layer.

THIRD LAYER:
4 small cans crushed pineapple, 
(well drained)
4 or 5 sliced bananas

Mix together and spread over second layer.

FOURTH LAYER:
2 envelopes Dream Whip

(mix as directed on package) spread over third layer and sprinkle with 1 cup coconut, then sprinkle nuts on top and garnish with cherries.


 
Keep in refrigerator
... This cake needs to be chilled well before cutting and if made in a 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 x 1 3/4 inch pyrex glass dish it will cut into 15 average pieces. I place one long stemmed maraschino cherry on each piece, (very pretty)

This cake is heavenly... and if you like banana splits, you're gonna love it!
