subject: 1) Children help to drag the deer in. I don't know who the kids are, but I assume they were with the men who were processing the deer. 2) About a dozen deer before they are skinned and otherwise processed. After skinning, they will be rinsed with water. If they are trophy deer, the heads (or sometimes just the antlers) will be cut from the carcass and saved for the taxidermist. The rest of the carcass will be cut up, packaged and frozen. 3) Here's a link to a photograph and some written information included in the original Kentucky Photo File site in November 1996. It's the same location as the photos from November 2001. |
