Wounded Women series
I usually don't care to talk about my paintings. Particularly with figurative work, the images just blaze into my brain, and I have no real clue what they're about. Most the time I just feel like a medium for the medium. These three figures came tumbling out bang bang bang. While working them up in studies, they began to seem interrelated. They seem to reflect on the fact that in certain spurious cultures, if a woman gets raped, a relative will kill her for dishonoring the family. That is so fucked up. But then, perhaps I'm reading a meaning where none exists.
