Small Tote Bag

Pattern Directions:
Bottom of Bag:
- With Main Color, ch 26
- Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, turn
- Rows 2-4: ch 1, sc in each st across, turn
- Do NOT fasten off
Side of Bag:
- Rnd 1: ch 3, dc in each st across, dc in side of row 4, dec by working
2 dc together in the sides of the next 2 rows, dc in side of row 1, dc
in bottom of each foundation ch across, dc in side of row 1, dec by working
2 dc together in the sides of the next 2 rows, dc in side of row 4, join
with a sl st to top of beginning ch 3
- Rnds 2-4: ch 3, sc in each st around, join with sl st to top of beginning
ch 3
- Rnd 5: ch 4, skip next st, *dc in next st, ch 1, skip next st, repeat
from * around, joing with a sl st to 3rd ch or beginning ch 4
- Rnd 6: sl st to ch 1 sp, ch 4, *dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, repeat from
* around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 4
- Rnds 7-16 (or until bag is as tall as you want): repeat Rnd 6
Top Edge of Bag:
- Switch to Contrasting Color
- Rnd 17: 2 sc in each ch 1 sp around, join with sl st to beginning sc
- Rnd 18: ch 3, *skip next st, hdc in next st, ch 1, repeat from * around,
join with sl st to 2nd ch or beginning ch 3
- Rnd 19: repeat Rnd 17, fasten off
Cord:
- Holding 2 strands of the Main Color together, ch a cord long enough to
reach around the bag.
- Weave the cord through Rnd 17.
- Tie the ends together and weave in all ends.
