"One of our less successful products"
(from Arthur C. Clarke's Fountains of Paradise)
What is Engineering?
- "Engineering is the art of modelling materials we do not wholly understand,
into shapes we cannot precisely analyse so as to withstand forces we cannot
properly assess, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the
extent of our ignorance."
--Dr AR Dykes
And God said, "Let there be civil engineers!"???
- Prepare the way for the Lord. Make the road in the dry lands straight for
our God. Every valley should be raised up. Every mountain and hill should
be made flat. The rough ground should be made level. The rugged ground
should be made smooth. (Isiah 40:3-4)
Does Science Exist?
Go Check Out These Engineering Jokes
- "Science really doesn't exist.
A scientific belief is either proved wrong,
or it quickly becomes engineering.
Everything else is untested speculation."
