April 2002 Hike Log
- 1 April: A mystery night hike beginning
at 3:00 am drew 115 people. They hiked over 62 miles,
which was no problem since they were already dead.
- 7 April: Knobstone Trail. 37 hikers,
sunny, 50 °F. 8 miles for most hikers, a few went 10 mi.
Hike leader: Tim H. Bob W. led a shorter hike of 5 mi.
About 16 ate at Rockys Italian Grill in
Clarksville.
- 14 April: Jefferson County Forest, Mitch
McConnell Trail: Cathy K. led the hikers on a rugged
8?-mile hike on this hillside loop.
- 21 April: Hemlock Cliffs: 25+ hikers did
approx. 7 miles strenuous bushwhacking at this spot in
the Hoosier National Forest near English and enjoyed some
very interesting sights. Hard rain on return leg of
trail, we got drenched! Temp.: 60s. Hike leader: Larry M.
Many of the hikers ate at the Overlook in Leavenworth.
- 28 April: Harrison-Crawford State
Forest: Anne C. led quite a few hikers on a muddy but
interesting hike of about 5 miles.
