July 2001 Hike Log
- Spring Mill, 1 July:
The 15?? hikers combined trails 5, 4 and 3 for about a 5-mile
hike.
Some visited the pioneer village afterward.
- Otter Creek Park, 8 July:
Around a dozen? hikers did a combination of what used
to be called the red and yellow trails for about a 5.5-mile hike.
Several ate at Mike Linnig's afterward.
- Riverwalk, 15 July:
Starting westward from near the locks, the walkers did about
an 8-mile round trip.
- Bardstown, 22 July:
- Tioga Falls, Bridges to the Past,
Fort Duffield, 29 July:
Around 17 people hiked the 2-mile round trip to Tioga Falls,
a high falls just outside West Point, Ky.
of whom a dozen or so walked the equally short paved Bridges
to the Past trail.
About six of the latter drove up Dixie Highway a little and
did the steep quarter-mile hike to Fort Duffield, and after
exploring the remains of the earthen fort and the re-created
buildings, took the road back down.
