KISHAW
November 2000 Hike Log
- Brown County State Park,
5 Nov.: Only 3 adults (and a baby) ended up going on this
hike, despite the nice weather, hiking parts of trails
4,5,7, and 8 for a total of about 7 mi., then visiting
Nashville.
- Night hike on the Knobstone
Trail north from Ind. 160, Sat. 11 Nov.: Seven
people hiked this beautiful, clear, night. The trail was
easy to follow in the full moon. A side trip afforded a
great view back to Louisville.
- Fort Hill and Frankfort,
12 Nov.: About 15 people walked in downtown Frankfort,
visiting the capitol, then climbed Fort Hill to view the
earthen Civil War forts. Most visited the Kentucky
History Center afterward.
- Knobstone at Elk
Creek Lake, 19 Nov.: The 15 hikers did almost 6 mi. round
trip (cutting across the dam coming back). The weather
was cold but sunny.
- Thanksgiving Breakfast,
Thursday 23 Dec.: Once again hikers and walkers gathered
at Bob W.s to eat pot luck and express what they
were thankful for. This time, about 24 came. Many of them
walked off a few calories on Seneca H.S.s campus.
- Bernheim Forest, 26
Nov.: No info yet.
