Patoka Lake, 5 March: With 3 or 4 meeting us up there, we had a total of about 18 people. We did the 6.5-mile main trail. It was a warm day (mid 60s) and it was hot hiking. Despite the early date, we spotted a tick. Most of us had the buffet at China King(?) in Floyds Knobs.
Mammoth Cave, 12 March: Eight hikers enjoyed a beautiful spring day. The group hiked 6.5 mi on a trail that was surrounded by a hairpin turn in the river and had lunch on the bank. -HL
Movie Night, 17 March: Eight people split up to (a) eat at Skyline Chili and see "Topsy Turvy" or (b) see "The Third Miracle".
Knobstone Trail, 19 March: Despite rain in the morning, 8 hikers (1 new) showed up in Jeffersonville (the rain had stopped, but it was still very gray). We drove up to IN 56 and hiked south from there to the 32-mile mark and back, for a rugged hike of a little over 5 miles. A few wildflowers were out. The rain started again after we got in the cars. Most of us ate at Neil's Place in Sellersburg.
Jefferson Co. Mem. Forest, 26 March: It was a beautiful, warm (70s) day and 32 people (about 5 new) hiked. Most of the group did about 7 miles (round trip) on the Siltstone Trail, meeting quite a few other people. Most ate at Mike Linnigs.
