Clifty Falls, 7 Feb.: Ten of us hiked this
very windy day. Knowing the creek would be high, we decided to
hike near the falls area (where there are bridges across the
creek). We did trails 6 and 7 and a small part of 8, for a total
of maybe five miles (the weather, already chilly, was turning
wet). The creek was indeed high and the falls were spectacular.
Eight ate at the Pines buffet in Madison. -BF

Hemlock Cliffs, 14 Feb.: Since the local newspaper printed the wrong time for the hike (again), we changed the meeting time from 9 AM to 11:30 AM and decided to go to a closer location Hemlock Cliffs, rather than Lincoln State Park. Seven people (none new) hiked about five miles. The recent rain and cold weather provided a beautiful panorama of waterfalls and lots of icicles dripping from the cliffs and rock shelters. Six of us ate at Rockys Sub Pub. -RL
Harrison-Crawford State Forest, 21 Feb.: Anne
C. led 11 hikers on about a 3-mile loop off Cold Friday Road.
Seven hiked about another 3 miles. Temperatures were in the upper
30s, but it was sunny. We could see the Ohio through the trees.
Several of us ate at Magdalena's in Corydon. -BF
28 Feb.: Three men met and decided not to hike.
