Westlake river access

Access to the Ocmulgee River at Westlake in Twiggs County is not very good. The boat ramp has some gravel, but suffers from erosion. The dirt roads are poorly marked and may be impassible in wet weather.

Access

From the Ocmulgee River bridge on Georgia 96 (Knowles Landing), go east 2.5 miles. Turn on Westlake Road, which is a county-maintained dirt road. Follow Westlake Road south 4 miles. Turn west on East Westlake Road, another county maintained dirt road. Cross the railroad tracks and continue about 0.2 miles to the river.
Better access upstream is Knowles Landing. Better access downstream is at Dykes Park.
