Fall Line
Middle Georgia is an intersection, a place of special ecological diversity. In
other words, we have more kinds of plants and animals than most places.
The Fall Line divides the rolling Piedmont from the sandy Coastal Plain, and
the Atlantic coastal plain meets the Gulf of Mexico costal plain.
For example, the American Toad is common north of Middle Georgia, and the Southern Toad
south of Middle Georgia, but only along the Fall Line do you find both.
