Georgia State Parks


The State of Georgia operates four parks around Middle Georgia. High Falls and Indian Springs are in the Piedmont region between Atlanta and Macon. Little Ocmulgee is between Macon and Savannah. Sprewell Bluff is between Macon and Columbus, Georgia.

Prior to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the state instituted a centralized reservation system. For cabins, reservations are advisable year round. For campsites, we find that usually reservations are unnecessary. Times when campsite reservations are a good idea include weekends during the peak summer season or parks close to interstate highways, and during special events.
