East Juliette River Access

This site provides canoe and fishing access to the Ocmulgee River just downstream of the Juliette dam. The site is a tiny hydroelectric plant in the ruins of a historic cotton mill. The site includes parking, a very short but scenic trail, and is well maintained.

Access

From Interstate 75, take Juliette Road east. Turn right on J. H. Aldridge Drive, the first road east of the river. Take the next right on Old River Road in the center of the small community of East Juliette. The site is on the right, just after the pavement turns to gravel.
The distance from the Juliette boat ramp is about a mile, including a good sized hill. Too far to carry a canoe! You will want to find another way to portage around the Juliette Dam.
Going downstream, the next good access is Popes Ferry , although access may also be possible at Dames Ferry .
