There are lots more good places and activities in Middle Georgia than I can possibly list here! Right now I am concentrating on hiking, camping, and river canoeing, generally open to the public. This leaves out hunting, fishing, baseball, bicycling, just to name a few. Plus, it excludes some very good sites open by membership or that cater to school groups. Also, some places it is unclear if the public really is invited (a lot of river accesses fall into this category). Finally, there are no doubt excellent sites I simply don't know about.
The source of the information is mostly the site owners or managers, but also includes my personal observations visiting them. Mostly, the information comes from brochures or signs (advertising) provided by the owners or managers, but a few sites have their own official World Wide Web pages. I hope some day I can replace my pages with links to the official pages. Until then, I cannot assure you the information is the most up to date, official, information. Natural conditions and managers' policies can change rapidly, and could cause you inconvenience, safety problems, and legal problems. This is why I strongly urge you to contact the owner or manager for the latest information before visiting any of these sites.
