Henshingu

The gaijin that have occasionally appeared off the coast of Rokugan have a fighting style of their own. The Unicorn have picked up certain tricks from the gaijin during their travels, although there is no way to know which particular groups they may have borrowed from. The shipborne gaijin seem to have a somewhat more intricate style than those from over the northern mountains -- at least as far as the Unicorn say. Nevertheless, they would still likely lose to any of Amaterasu's children, from the Mirumoto to the Kakita, or any other bushi school of the Empire. We refer to it here in as close to the gaijin name as we can get, to differentiate from true kenjutsu.

Benefits: Depending on the focus of the fencer's style, they receive a +1 in either Agility (for those like the shipborne gaijin) or Strength (for those like the Ujuk-hai).

Techniques

Rank 1: Parry: This is identical to the Shinjo Rank 2 ability, replacing kenjutsu with the gaijin's Fencing skill.

Rank 2: Lunge: This ability is similar to the Bayushi Rank 1 ability, except that the fencer only keeps one initiative die, and the fencer must use a Full Attack on the turn this is done.

Rank 3: Feint: This ability is identical to the Bayushi Rank 2 ability.

Rank 4: Riposte: At this rank, the fencer may follow up a parry with an immediate attack against their opponent at TN 5 (plus any armor bonuses the opponent may have).

Rank 5: Disarm: This ability is identical to the Bayushi Rank 3 ability.
