The Agasha were the first to discover the medicinal properties of the plant. Ingested, it is capable of producing complete paralysis and deadening pain. Much of the rest of the Empire still relies on Opium for this, and since this use of the plant is fairly unknown outside of a certain circle of herbalists, the fact that it is far less addictive than Opium goes unheeded.
The Scorpion, of course, have formulated a more intense version of the compound, something they call Datura. Oddly, this name has spread even to the medicinal variety. Datura attacks the lungs, a similar effect to an overdose of the medicinal variety. Both versions are known to have mild hallucinogenic effects.

This poisonous variety of Datura was allegedly developed by the Scorpion clan. It has the "Strike at the Wind" main effect, and the "Hallucination" side effect.
